Pine

Pine is a text-based email client originally designed to be easy to use for non-technical people. Today, it is still popular with this group of users. Over the years, Pine has added additional features intended to satisfy the needs of more advanced users, but for such users, or those otherwise willing to invest time in learning how to use a more powerful email client, Mutt is likely the most commonly-used alternative.
